their are millions who are successful without university education go to Onitsha, Aba, Lagos and other commercial cities you will meet them the op is not trying to discourage anybody from attending university education if they can but not everybody can afford university education and not everybody have the brain to attend one instead of losing hope of making it in life they should draw inspiration from people that the op mention if this people can make it without university education they can make it too

OP, do you know the number of formally educated professionals their lives and businesses are heavily depended on? Your post reveals why Africa sits far behind its continental contemporaries. Poverty is illiteracy's first breed. Most of these folks you are selling to us later pursued formal education to refine their crude behaviour which stalled them socially. OP, I'd advise you don't send your kids to school...lead by example!

He was actually attending classes as a governor and taking exams himself. But Abia politics tried to rubbish his efforts at completing his university education

No,there is this notion among our youth that without a degree,you can't make it in life. People waste scarce resources and years to study philosophy,religion,linguistics,physiology,political science,library,book keeping and the rest them,then you will be pounding the Streets looking for jobs to make it and be successful? This is 3rd country and it is a misplaced priority. Not every facet of life needs a degree. Be creative driven ,be productive, work smart, strive for excellence and the sky your limit. China, Thailand,Vietnam,Indonesia,India are driving the world today not by degrees,masters or phd.
