[center]Pregnancy is a pretty exciting but tough experience. One of the difficulties of pregnancy is the insomnia (sleeplessness) associated with it. The discomfort of an enlarging belly coupled with heartburn and frequent urination can make you kiss a good night rest goodbye. Here are some tips to help:

• Find a comfortable position: Lying on your left side is the medically preferred position for good circulation during pregnancy. You can make yourself more comfy by using as many pillows as is convenient.
• Take power naps during the day: A 15-30 minute nap can make a world of difference so don’t fight it.
• Cut down on spicy meals, fried foods, beans and any foods that flare up your heartburn. You may also want to stop eating late at night. If you have to, have a fruit or two instead. Have an antacid on standby and you may elevate your head with pillows.
• Stay well hydrated during the day but reduce your fluid intake as evening approaches. This way, you reduce the frequency of your trips to the loo.
• Exercise: Taking morning or evening walks can be your ticket to sleep
• Create a wind-down routine: Having a consistent night-time routine can facilitate sleep.
