What could be wrong with kissing?
Actually, nothing. But sometimes such
an innocent expression of feelings
could change your life forever.
Especially if you are a policeman who
likes to cuddle and kiss your
colleagues while on duty.
Two Tanzanian police officers may not have
thought that a photo showing them kissing
while dressed in their work uniform would end
their careers. The photo that was widely
shared on social media sparked hot discussion
among indignant residents of the country.

As it was discovered later, the image was
uploaded to the internet by a third officer,
who also took the photo, and it drew the
attention of the authorities at the Kagera
police force, north west Tanzania. Besides,
the officer behind the camera also was
dismissed over the incident.
The unusual story was meticulously covered
by local media causing different kinds of
reactions. Some people expressed their dismay
while others said that the punishment for the
police officers is disproportionate and should
have been more lenient.
Explaining the situation and stepts taken
Henry Mwaibambe, the regional police commander,
said, “We followed all disciplinary
procedures to make sure that they
were given a chance to defend
themselves.
The officer looking at the case was
convinced there was compelling
evidence against them, and that they
had breached police code of conduct.
That’s why they lost their jobs.”
According to a lawyer at the Tanzania Legal
and Human Rights Center, in this case it
wasn’t the kiss itself that led to their
dismissal, but the fact that that it happened
in public, whilst in uniform, and was
subsequently posted online.
“They should have been reprimanded,
sacking them is extreme, huuh!” posted
one on Facebook. “Police couple kissing
taken more serious than bribery,” wrote
a third on Twitter.It also appears the
photograph may have been taken back in 2012,
but was only recently posted on social
media.

I can hardly see they're faces but unfortunately when one is wearing uniform certain things cannot be condoned. But firing them is a bit dramatic hey.
