Jonathan in closed-door meeting with ex-Borno
Governor, Ali Modu Sheriff
President Goodluck Jonathan and former Borno state Governor, Ali Modu
Sherriff, on Monday met behind closed doors at the Presidential villa in
Abuja.
Their meeting may not be unconnected with the ceasefire agreement reached
with the extremist Boko Haram sect.
Emerging from the meeting, the former governor, accused of funding the
deadly sect, refused to speak to journalists who approached him .
The Nigerian Government had last week signed a ceasefire agreement with the
Islamic sect.
As part of the ceasefire deal, the sect, Nigerian officials say, agreed to free the
Chibok School girls who have been their captives for over six months now.
According to reports the girls were to be released Monday (today) or Tuesday.
But the ceasefire appears not to be functional as Boko Haram insurgents on
Friday and Saturday caused mayhem in parts of Borno killing at least 25
persons.
Also, there is still no news on the return of the girls.
President Jonathan had on September 8 met his Chadian counterpart in that
country’s capital, Ndjamena, in the company of Mr. Sheriff, .
A photograph released by Mr. Jonathan’s office showed Mr. Sheriff seated for
a key security meeting with the president, alongside Idris Derby, the president
of Chad.
The meeting discussed modalities for joint border patrols, intelligence sharing
and the prevention of the illicit movement of terrorists, arms and ammunition
across shared borders.
Mr. Derby, a close friend of Mr. Sheriff, was to facilitate the negotiation
between the Nigerian government and Boko Haram that yielded the shaky
ceasefire announced on Friday.

I'm sure they are strategizing on the modus operandi for the release of the innocent girls Alimodu sheriff's boko haram abducted. They are in a quagmire since the media leakage of their tripartite bedroom meeting they had in the Chadian president's lodge.

It is really tough to be a Goodluck Jonathan or a supporter of his. He keeps making the job of his handlers and blind minions of ethnic driven supporters difficult with his 1001 gaffes and missteps.

Who else should have a "PARIAH " STATUS in this country if not other than this unrepentant moneybag of shekau and his murderous gang but our C-in-T is holding closed door meetings with him..

Met PDP Governors (promised them to install their stooge, go to Senate and EFCC will not come after them), in exchange to their support. Then meet his partner Ali Modu Sheriff to review updates on their Boko Projects are going. Also to know if he will need more money in order to make his re-election a reality.

Jonathan has failed Nigerians.

Is it that Sheriff is the one negotiating on behalf of Boko Haram?

The number one demand for APC Protest arm BBOG group is for the release of the abducted Chibock girls. Now that the federal government is doing everything possible to secure their release, APC minions are up there spewing trash. And you thing they really care for the girls? Hypocrisy indeed at its peak. sad

As far as am concerned, anything that will lead to the peaceful release and return of all the girls in one piece is a Good development.

when the BBOG campaigners started, they began as an independent group of concerned Nigerians; but surprisingly, APC has cornered the whole thing and claimed them as though the party was the brain behind the movement eventhough we don't deny that one or two APC members were front runners in the move that consist of mainly blabbing in the streets of Abj with no real action attached to it.

I guess they are not happy now that it is looking likely the girls would be released and FG would take the glory for it.
