spot on bro... It's time we step away from being Africa champion but mark our presence at the world stage. I know with one or two additions and proper preparations, this falcons will go step(s) further in Canada next year compared to their previous outings.

Courtney Dike and Ihezuo/Igbinovia could added as part of the 23-woman World Cup squad. Also, Peter Dedevbo should be drafted into the technical crew because I don't really see Coach Okon's tactical input in the Falcons team. Dedevbo is actually a good reader of matches, and can switch tactics when needed.

Nigeria will be facing Cameroon in the 2014 African Women Championship final held in Namibia on Saturday, 25/10/2014 at 18:00 GMT with both sides eyeing the trophee.

Nigeria beat South Africa to keep up record of qualifying for every FIFAWWC, matched only by Brazil, Germany, Norway, Sweden & (tbc) USA.

With 14 goals in four matches, Nigeria have impressed almost everyone at this year’s AWC, and many pundits strongly believe they will carry that momentum into match-day on Saturday.

Cameroon has qualified after beating Cote d’Ivoire in the semi-final, to insure a spot in the Fifa WWC.

The winner of that game will make history by qualifying for a first ever FIFA Women's World Cup.

The USA, yesterday, qualified for the Women's World Cup after a cruising 3-0 CONCACAF semifinal win over Mexico in Pennsylvania.
Team USA will face Costa Rica in the final on Sunday. Costa Rica will be making her debut in a Women's WC.

Both losing semi finalists- Trinidad and Tobago, and Mexico will battle for a third place finish and a spot at next year's World Cup. The loser would still have another chance of qualifying if they beat Ecuador in a 2-legged playoff.

List of already qualified teams:
Canada, USA, Costa Rica,
Brazil, Colombia
England, Spain, Germany, Sweden, France, Switzerland, Norway
Thailand, Japan, Australia, China, South Korea
Nigeria, Cameroon

The last time both teams met at an AWC final, in 2004, the Super Falcons walloped the Cameroonians by 5-0.
Perpetua Nkwocha scored 4 goals that day.

I could recall that in the build-up to that match d Cameroonian ladies in an extensively publicized interview said the Falcons had for too long dominated the Championship, and that it's now their own time to carry the trophy. One even said they will "wallop" the naija babes. After dat match ended 5-0 in favour of the Falcons, I was like, what went wrong!

U are very correct. But for the injection of fresh and competent legs in Oshoala and co., we would most likely not have made it to the finals, not to talk of beating the present crop of Lionesses. It's likely to be a close one as u have said.
