Complaint like this will not stop as long as the FG continues to control and regulate disbursment of funds.

There is nothing wrong if a state merge with a more viable one. Nigeria is bleeding !!
hmm!! But will they agree? Dis one some ethnic groups are already clamouring for their own states without even knowing what it means to be a state. All they are interested in is having the seat of power in their domain.

Merger won't work, but we can salvage our country by not creating more states.

Some States cant survive in a Resources Controlling scenario, if States governments are creative, the states will evolve into industrial centers with the allocations they currently receive. Like I cited 2 examples prior, Its all about creativity, industry and foresight. We can sit here and blame Federal Formula, Inequality, corruption and resource control for all you suffer from, but truth is, the billions received every 4 weeks by Governors can actually build factories, estates, etc for States to generate finances from, while Federal Allocation becomes social security.

Think outside the box.
I am still not disputing you. My concern is the present system in place that doesnot provide any sort of pressure on state governors to judiciously use the allocation they collected into creating wealth. A system where fg made it mandatory for certain percentage of the allocation be used for investment with check and balance to ensure the state who default are allowed to be drilled by the anti graft agency. The fg possess both the yam and the knife and can play a huge role how state gov't spend their allocation not minding state legislators. But again, the fg is more interested in playing politics of divide and personal interest to intervene appropriatelly.

Very well said my brother

The just concluded national conference was a complete waste of time and money. Can you imagine those old greedy buffons agitating for additional state creation when in actual fact some state needs to be merged with more viable one e.g Kebbi, Taraba, Ebonyi, Kogi etc.

In my own opinion, True federalism, Regionalism and Resource control is the key. Nigeria needs to be restructured, there is an urgent need for devolution of powers from the central government.
Absolutely.

Learn to respect me, I do not menstruate every 28 days. When men are discussing, little girls are not welcomed.

When a senseless n1tw1t and chauvinistic caveman. So where are women welcomed? In your bedroom and kitchen alone? It is fools like you who end up killing your spouse when they grow beyond you in sophistication, earnings and independence. You belong in a zoo.

@Topic.

Too many criminal-minded Nigerians running around and backing what is wrong because of ethno-religious support of the GEJ-led FG. The matter under discussion is fairly simple. While we remain a federation, with legally constituted and empowered tiers, the federal Government is never allowed to disburse allocation unfairly or short-change other legitimate tiers of our federal structure. Especially not in the name of vengeful intimidation or bullying politics.

No Nigerian should support this development which is tantamount to backing armed robbers, rapists and murderers simply because one does not like the police. With the way many Nigerians speak online, showing they are not committed to what is fair and just always, one can forgive foreigners who continue to swear that many Nigerians have a gene of criminality in them.

One thing every morally upright person will admit is that Nigerian States are constitutionally entitled to every kobo accruing to them as per our legal revenue sharing formula. No ifs and buts. Conversely, the FG is not allowed to short-change any legitimate tier of the Nigerian federation or disburse the revenue accruing to States unfairly for the sake of political persecution/vendetta. It is only criminal-minded folks who do not agree that fair is fair in life.

Lazy governors! And I mean all of them 36. The pdp Govs won't complain because they know it could call them to give account of the allocations so far received. These apc airhead Govs are just out to begin another campaign of calumny against Mr president. What have they done with all the LG allocations that they misappropriate? They had hoped that building roads and bridges alone at overwhelming costs wAs all there is to governance. How many industries did they build to boost their IGR?

@the boss Billyonaire, pls apologize to Obiageli for that swipe at her. Even though she is a pain in the azz and brought it upon herself, I still think you were too hard on her and to the rest of the women by extension.

It is so unfortunate that under the watch of GEJ our economy is gradually dying. A reduction of about #8bn in sept allocation. Can GEJ manage our economy for another 4years?

Which economy is dying?
