Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal has gone to court over the withdrawal of his security details by the Nigerian police. The case which was filed today, Friday 31ist 2014 at about 12:40pm Nigerian time is asking that his security details be reinstated, he's still remains the speaker.

Recall that Tambuwal who was elected speaker under the platform of PDP officially decamped to APC last Monday. He is due to contest for Governorship elections in sokoto state come 2015.



So many constitutional Lawyers have faulted the withdrawal of his securities by the Nigerian Police on Thursday, believing that the Police took the laws into their hands. They should have left it for the judicial arm of the Government to interpret the laws rather than withdrawing his securities that he was no longer the speaker. His former party PDP has asked that he resign the seat due to his defection.
