Burkina Faso Presidents Resigns After Protests by ikevin(m): 5:58pm On Oct 31, 2014 |
The violent protest that surged through the capital of Burkina Faso (Ouagadougou) has forced Blaise Compaore the immediate president to step down after 27 years of ruling the impoverished country. He resigned today, a different approach taken as against yesterday when he declared that he would rule for an extra year. The protesters burnt down the parliament and the military dumped Mr. Blaise. The head of the military is currently in charge for 90 days, to prepare the country for elections. Source-New York Times. |
