The National Youths Vanguard of the Peoples Democratic Party, Anambra State chapter has criticised Nigeria’s ambassador to Spain, Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, for expressing her reservations about the defection of former Governor Peter Obi from the All Progressive Grand Alliance to the Peoples Democratic Party. The chairman of the group, Mr. Ikenna Ubah, told reporters in Awka on Monday that they least expected the wife of the late Igbo leader, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu to make uncomplimentary remarks about Obi, who they said had a constitutionally guaranteed right to join any association. Ubah commended Obi for heeding the calls of many patriotic Nigerians, particularly those of the leaders of PDP to join the party. He said the former governor had never disappointed the Igbo since he accepted the responsibility placed on his shoulder. The group also endorsed Mr. Ken Emeakayi-led executive committee of the PDP in Anambra state who, they noted, has won more elections for the party than his predecessors. They urged Emeakayi to continue to pilot the affairs of the party in the state for a successful outing during the National Assembly and the State Assembly elections in 2015.
