Tambuwal arrived NASS on November 4 without security, to declare open public hearings by two committees of the House, The Punch reports.

All eyes were on the politician in connection with the scandalous last week’s saga of his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a result of which the ruling party asked him to resign or face the forceful removal.

It would be recalled that soon after the news broke out, the politician’s security aides were withdrawn, which made the speaker sue the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba

One of the meetings declared open on Tuesday by Tambuwal was a hearing by the Committee on Public Accounts on a “Bill for an Act to Repeal the Audit Act of 1956 and to Re-Enact the Audit Act of 2010…”

According to The Vanguard, the speaker stressed the importance for the country to adopt new trends in digital auditing.

Sahara Reporters adds that upon arrival Tambuwal was applauded by members of the House Committee on Public Accounts for his courage despite the victimization and threats over his decision to defect.

Meanwhile the speaker was absent at the yesterday’s meeting presided by Goodluck Jonathan, so was the former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari.
