Man Eaten By Anaconda in Discovery, Paul Rosolie, 26, will be eaten alive by an anaconda and the stunt will air on Discovery Channel, according to a report.

The special is called ‘Eaten Alive’ and will air on December 7. According to Discovery Channel, Rosolie will enter “the belly of an anaconda in a custom-built snake-proof suit.” He will have an emergency line attached to his ankle, the Independent reports.





Although Discovery Channel insists that the anaconda in the episode was not hurt in anyway, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) claim that “the snake was tormented and suffered for the sake of ratings,” the show’s host is a “fool,” and called for the network to drop the episode.

“This blatant publicity stunt sounds far-fetched, but if the description is accurate, the snake was tormented and suffered for the sake of ratings, as animals usually do when they’re used for entertainment,” a representative from PETA said in a statement to People.

“Anacondas go days without eating and expend the energy needed to do so selectively. Making this snake use up energy by swallowing this fool and then possibly regurgitating him would have left the poor animal exhausted and deprived of the energy that he or she needs,” the representative added.

The representative also called down on Rosolie and Discovery Channel, and said that the network still hasn’t replied to their proposition.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Discovery Channel dismisses the rumors that the show is just a hoax and says that the stunt was done under extreme precautions, though it did not say how much Rosolie was actually swallowed by the anaconda.

Furthermore, the network reports that three herpetologists were consulted before Rosolie (who wore a “snake proof suit” covered with pig’s blood to make him more appetizing to the snake), attempted the stunt.
