Former Nigeria skipper Sunday Oliseh has expressed sadness over the Super Eagles failure to qualify for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

The AFCON 1994 winning midfielder stated that despite beating Congo, the team still failed to finish the job against South Africa.

“A sad day for Nigerian Football. I really believed the decisive one was vs Congo, only for South Africa to spoil it. God knows why, believe me!,” he wrote on his twitter page.

South Africa ensured a 2-2 draw against the Super Eagles in the last group game of the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Both South Africa and Congo qualified from group A and will take part in next year’s AFCON in Equatorial Guinea while Nigeria and Sudan were eliminated.
