President Goodluck Jonathan says contrary to media reports, his administration is winning the war against the outlawed Boko Haram terrorist group. Speaking on Friday in London at the opening of the meeting of Nigeria's Honorary International Investment Council (HIIC), Jonathan said the Armed Forces and security agencies were making steady gains in recovering areas recently taken by Boko Haram insurgents. According to him, the Federal Government and the security agencies are working very hard to ensure that the Boko Haram's ability to capture and hold any Nigerian territory is ended very soon. "We're improving on security. For about a week now, there have been no reports of Boko Haram seizing more territory. Rather, we're steadily pushing them back. The impression being created by sections of the media that the situation is worsening is not true. I can assure you that it will never get worse", he said. The president also solicited greater support from the National Assembly for his government's efforts toward curbing terrorism and insecurity in Nigeria. He told the gathering that to be successful, leaders must take decisions based on adequate information and sound advice, saying "having had the personal benefit of interacting with you all as vice president and president since 2007 has helped me a lot". Jonathan said he had offered himself as a candidate in Nigeria's next presidential elections because he was convinced that with four more years in office, he would be able to further consolidate the positive national reforms initiated by his administration and take them to an irreversible point for the good of all Nigerians. "As you already know, I've indicated my willingness to carry on for another four years if I'm given the opportunity so that we can carry forward some of the reforms we've been talking about", the president said. He said his government hoped to further expand transportation infrastructure and improve local content in Nigeria's oil industry as well as ensure more inclusive economic growth, job creation and national security which are on the agenda of the meeting. "We cannot move the economy forward without good infrastructure. We've been working very hard in that area. We've improved our road network significantly. In the next three to four years, we should be able to resurface almost all federal roads in the country and begin new ones. We're improving our airport terminals and aviation security. Reforms are also ongoing at our ports to drastically reduce the time required for import clearance formalities. "In the rail sector, we may require private sector funds to quicken the pace of development. Our goal is to link all state capitals by rail. It may not be an objective that can be achieved by a single administration, but we want to lay a solid foundation that others can build on. We're also promoting the increase of local content in our oil industry, because that is the only way in which our people will benefit more from the industry and begin to see themselves as true stakeholders who need to protect and help in the development of our oil and gas resources," President said. www.dailytrust.com.ng/daily/news/40147-insurgency-jonathan-accuses-media-of-lying-says-i-m-winning-terror-war |

Oh! Indeed... Liar. As I posted on the other thread. I used to be in support of that tyrannous dolt until I wrenched out my last straw. And all we've heard his team of saTANs also say is that 'Tambuwal should quit since he was there on the PDP platform' and some people of ill-will even demanded that he should be shot. How Ridiculous... I've asked myself what changed in our society that permits the reevaluation of a tyrant oppression or his stance on human injustice that has plagued this nation on the international landscape? For years, he's been the subject of patchwork of commentaries, numerous judgements and endless assessments from the spectrum of the APC which seems unfair a lil bit but inspite of the psycho-analysis of the clueless and incompetence douchebag, Jonathan will always be exactly who he is and most of the electorate have figured this. OP, Truth does not change, he cant even change our awareness of it. Vote out the Dunce come 2015. Return the Fisherman to his creeks CC: sincere9gerian, Ngbakwe and other team members CC: egift, berem, barcanista, laykorn, omenka... I'm officially joining the APC train. 1 Like 1 Share |

wazoboy: Its true that the war is been won but in irony. Before SOE no single village under the control of Boko Haram but now we have more than 20 LGA under their control. The war been is won as planned in the agenda book . The agenda is killing northerners un abated. Imagine a soldier moving with APC just because of this Miscreants he jump and live it for them. And that's how they gather those weapons in their possession. And you say their is no agenda. May Allah help us dismantle the Miscreants. Amin. |
