According to Oxford dictionary “Torture” is causing severe suffering (bodily or mentally) to someone. This act as been seen by Nigerian security agencies as a culture and best way for interrogating a suspect and also the best form of discipline.

There have been many cases where suspects, sometimes innocent people have died due to torture.

Some of this people committed little offence that do not require any form of torture and sometimes some are completely innocent.

Suspects are usually being forced to accept to the crime they have not committed through torture.

They will receive torture from the security agency and will be told that the only way to escape the torture is to simply accept the allegations against them and in some cases suspects do accept the allegations in order to escape further torture which can possibly lead to their death.

Also, in Nigeria, torture is seen by the masses as the best disciplinary way. Parents torture their child when they commit a little offence. There are cases where parents hand their child to the police or military in order for them to discipline the child through torture. Hence torture is seen as a culture in Nigeria.

This act is a very bad habit that must be condemned. So many innocent Nigerians have died in the hands of security agencies, let us all rise up and say no to TORTURE.

We all play politics with the future of our country by not telling the truth to all our leaders. It is unfortunate but that is the truth. 4 more years of Jonathan are going to be a train wreck for Nigeria if the truth must be told. Nigeria will remain in big trouble until we Nigerians and saTANist appreciate that God is not coming down to do our work for us. That is the big difference between the countries of the first and third world.

The man has to go and the way to do it is to reject him at the polls like is done in every civilized country

Actually, there's corruption in Nigeria, but i think you are out of point in this topic because in terms of torture in the hands of security agencies, it has existed before the arrival of Jonathan is not Jonathan that brought it. So i cannot solely put the blame on him even tough he's our current president.

What has he done to reduce it m that is why he was elected , to stop the menace of his predecessors, the excuse of inheriting problems are lame , didn't GEJ know they were existing before vying for presidency and declaring intent to contest again ? Pls it is his duty to correct wrongs in the country and if he can't he should step down and if he doesn't it is our job to remove him in the polls since the legislature are just moving statues. The act in the NA yesterday self was an act of torture
