The conglomeration of the transport unions ,
okada riders, market men and women including
students in Ekiti State have vowed to curtail any
move that would lead to the breach of public
peace in the state by the All Progressive
Congress lawmakers in the House of Assembly.
In a statement signed in Ado Ekiti on Saturday,
members of the National Union of Road
Transport Workers, the Road Transport
Employers Association of Nigeria, Association of
Market Women in Nigeria and the Federation of
Ekiti State Students warned the APC lawmakers
to know the consequence of waging war against
their state.
The statement was jointly signed by Chief
Adekola Clement, Comrade Dahunsi Olaniyi,
Awoniyi Ayodele and Chief (Mrs)Olabisi
Okummolade for the unions.
They lamented that the lawmakers had rebuffed
attempts by the Governor, Mr Ayo Fayose, by
stretching hands of friendship to the
lawmakers, which according to them was rebuffed
by the lawmakers.
“Rather than reciprocating the gesture, they have
occupied themselves by holding secret meetings,
mapping out strategies on how they would
destabilise the state and making it ungovernable
for the governor.
“To make the matter worse, they are currently
outside the state, precisely in far away Lagos
hobnobbing and romancing with those opposing
the progress of the state.
“It has come to our knowledge that the APC
lawmakers intend to come to back as from
Monday to cause a breach of peace, commotion
and violence which by the grace of God we
intend to curtail.
“They should jettison personal interest and know
that the interest of the people of the state is
greater than their own selfish interest.”
They commended the Governor for his maturity
and promised to support his administration.
While congratulating the new speaker, Dele
Olugbemi, the group urged him to work with all
the lawmakers in the assembly as a team,
irrespective of political affiliation. www.punchng.com/news/unions-students-warn-ekiti-lawmakers-against-violence/

This are not Ekiti people speaking because
I guessed average Ekiti indigence are not
okada rider, NURTW & the so-called Iya-oloja
and NAN’s body in Nigeria are known for
Jeun Jeun (Chop chop)…I was watching one
of the foolish PDP’s lawmakers on channelstv
he was pointless and almost dumb to explain
the compliance of their actions as provided
by constitution…I am surprised Ekiti people
are opening their eyes to make this calamity
to befall them…Instead of Fayose to swallow
his pride but is being carried away by fear of
unknown….Well no wonder why Job said in
the bible in Job 3:25 “For the thing which I
greatly feared is come upon me, and that
which I was afraid of is come unto me” The
impeachment he feared most will definitely
end his reign either you believe it or not
unless he change his ways.
