First it started when nollywood actors and actresses decided to try their voices in music. This turned out to be a disaster for the bulk of them and now their interests have shifted drastically. The trend started officially from the moment that Richard Mofe Damijo was appointed by the Delta State Governor then. Later on, other celebrities joined the league of appointees such as Nkiru Sylvanus. Today, it is no more news to all and sundry that our musical and movie celebs are all running into politics. Even comedians have joined the trend. The rate is very shocking. 9ice is vying for the House of Reps come 2015, Desmond Eliot is vying for Lagos State House of Assembly, Bob-Manuel Udokwu is eyeing House of Assembly in Enugu State, Tony Tetuila is eyeing House of Assembly in Kwara State, Dan D Humourous is eyeing House of Assembly in Rivers State; even the popular comedian turned musician, Maleke, has been given an appointment in Edo State and Julius Agwu is fully suited up to ride the horse as the governor of Rivers State come 2015. These are just some of the popular celebs that are scurrying into politics at various levels. The rate is alarming and overwhelming at the same time and it leaves me wondering, what is happening

However, I want to believe that there must be a reason for this mass migration from artistry to politics. Fellow nairalanders, what are your takes on this issue?

90 percent of them are nothing but thieves. When they empty their bank account on campaign and at the end of the day no one vote for them, I won't be the one to tell them before they find their way back to the studio. This is what Yoruba call "ojukokoro"
