Regardless, of what the opposition says Nigeria is better off economically now then 8 years ago and beyond. Profitable small scale business is cropping up everywhere in the East. That leads me to one conclusion Not a fan of PDP but until somebody with a better track record pops up.. GEJ until 2019 5 Likes |

kimond101:You are absolutely correct and all the opposition can do for the so called party of change is use insecurities against the current administration. Regardless, all they are doing the investors are not deterred and money is still flowing in 9ja for those that know how to attract it. 3 Likes |

Nigeria ranks 187/190 in health, the whole world over .....this is what should bother us, not returns on which investments I repeat, our quality of health and our health system is only better than that of Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo and Myanmar 3 Likes |

You all missed the message! The high return on investment mean investors overcharges Nigerians, both private and government. Imagine the difference between ROI in Nigeria and world average of 6.6%! 2 Likes |

For the past 2 months this man has been going everywhere lying to all that care to listen. This same man tricked reporters the other day Nigeria exports $10b worth of Cocoa a year when its actually a global figure. This same man told the whole nation all the roads in SE have been fixed remaining very few kilometers. The only reasons I can sum up for trying to beat Iweala's record as liar-in-state is he's eyeing her position as the coordinating minister of the economy when they come back next year. Fourth on ROI when all we deliver are very poor quality products and poor service delivery just to maximize these returns. What kind of a lying government is this for Christ sake? 3 Likes |

As if it is something to be celebrated. They should instead be working on how to bring the ROI down and make it more stable and fair to Nigerians rather than being overtly high. If I were an investor, I would not be fooled by this ranking because Nigeria's high ROI is not based on policy but on opaque actions. Yes, Nigeria has to be among the tops in this aspect because we have a useless government. Dstv Mtn Total Hallibourton Etc They rip nigerians off by over charging us and then bribe the regulators and our leaders, together, they are the ones that make the gains not the general populace, competition is frustrated, they will do anything to retain the status quo, the profits go overseas, it's a kill. When will God give Nigeria visionary and sincere leaders like he gave china, singapore etc May it be sooner than we think 3 Likes |

Lol. Bro,I don't mean to be rude but the truth is that,it's only an illiterate that would talk the way you've just spoken. If you have nothing worthwhile to contribute to meaningful topics,it's not a crime if you remain silent and read other comments so you can learn and improve your mental faculty. Let me just give you simple straightforward answers to your questions. The high returns on investment, has nothing to do with the fall of the naira against the dollar. The naira is falling against the dollar, due to restrictions placed by the CBN int the buying and selling of forex. Currently, there's a high demand for the dollar and the CBN has restricted sales to the interbank market. Banks are being offered the dollars at a 10 kobo margin, which the banks have refused and as such, has caused a kind of artificial scarcity. Going with the law of demand and supply,it means the excess demand of the dollar,as against the limited supply of the dollar, would therefore reduce the value of the naira,as more naira would have to be exchanged for the few available dollars in the market. The CBN's decision to restrict the dollar sales,is aimed at protecting our foreign reserves from depleting further cos of the continual drop in oil prices and the steady decline in the excess crude account. Nigeria imports more than we export and since the dollar is the major international currency at which most commodities are valued,it then means that whatever we need to import,we have to "buy" the dollar(forex) to finance such transactions. Take for example,we want to import petroleum products or you want to import cars from the US,you have to buy the dollar to finance such transaction. Moreso,we're approaching an election year where most politicians would be justling for hard currencies to finance some of their "operations". At a period like this, the demand for the dollar usually rises and the value of the naira weakens. As a matter of fact,it should be way lower than this if not for the fact that the CBN from time to time, uses part of the foreign reserves,to stabilize the naira. The minister for trade is simply saying that Nigeria offers a very high rate of ROI(return on investment),to anybody who's interested in coming to do business here and that is very true. If you're in doubt, ask MTN and DSTV. The part where you talked about "how much of the 36% of ROI is being looted,is very embarrassing. It shows you don't even have an idea of what you're talking about. malali: 2 Likes |
