Homeless Not Hopeless - A Poem By Susrite by susrite(m): 11:05pm On Nov 27, 2014
I was walking through the street at night, equiped with a full-cotton sweater and a giant umbrella as walking in such weather lighly clothed would be suicidal, suddenly I saw a little fragile boy whose age would be in the range of eight to twelve. He was only on pants and his whole sickly unclad body was being brutally punished by the rushing rain and cold wind.

I stopped and took a deep look at the him, I called him and pulled off my sweater and wrapped it around his shivering shoulders and carried him on my back and brought him home.

I made tea for him before questioning him. It was a sympathetic night as I was unaware of the tears that rolled down my eyes.
I had to let him pass the night for I pitied the him a lot.

This scenario has pushed me to write this poem for all those who are homeless; move on because you are going to make it one day...

YOU ARE ONLY HOMELESS NOT HOPELESS.

As the day turns in
the firmament seizing the sun
the coolness of the moon coming
the earth quiet like a deserted lawn.

The horizons flaunt their beauties
the stars, their streak
the nightingale called for duty
and silent hitting its peak

In the street corner
lies a child dazed from sleep
a poor soul feeling sober
a tender heart that often weep

trembling, feeling cold like a damp
with a sick body, frail and weak
under the moon's unbias lamp
a happy bed impossible to seek

for this little child
the street corner becomes home
to rest for the night
without a silk and soothing foam

In a little and short while
he will wake to scavenge
like a vulture walking a million mile
being hurt by the earth without revenge

from the garbage can
full of litters and trash
yet he lives on the platform "I can"
I'll stay alive and someday earn cash

to all kid that live without shelter
that has no mild mother's hand to caress
the way you are today never matter
you are only homeless, not hopeless!

From a distance I heard your plea for help
Wretchedness and tiredness written all over you
I set my eyes upon the heavens
And cried out.. ..... when will this end?

Beggars flood the street
Who's hands seems to be made only for alms
With weary eyes and shivering lips they beg
Oh. ...... who will save me? They asked .

I answered. .....
There is a tomorrow I see. A God I know
Whose compassion is ever TRUE when you set your heart on Him
When you walk with Him, there's a Glory for you.
Then you have a priceless Joy in your heart

And you tell yourself.........
I am Homeless not Hopeless
For tomorrow holds for me
Greater things I know

Oh men this is awesome and do..pe. I admire your diction and fine imagery. But your last stanza really ain't necessary. It makes the whole poem sound like a cheap lyrics. Try and refine it or probably remove it as part of the poem it can just be an epilogue or something to tell us that it's not a stanza on it's own. Once again, nice poem. Keep it up bro.
