Umana Umana to get the Ribadu Treatment

Some leadership of the All Progressives Congress and the APC governors forum may be planning a shocker for the former secretary to the state government, Umana Okon Umana
Umana Okon Umana has defected from his party, the Peoples democratic party to the All Progressives Congress with the aim of contesting the governorship election in Akwa ibom State on february 12, 2015.
However, investigations by our correspondents showed that Umana, it was gathered, would be asked to be ready to take part in the party’s primaries like any other aspirants.and will not get any special treatment among other governorship aspirants.
So far, five other contestants have picked the form including, leading Senator John James Udoedehe,House of Representatives Member Emmanuel Ekpeyoung,Group Captain Sam wang,Ime Gamble and Etang Onoyo
Ahead of governorship election in the state, the Apc has fixed its House of Assembly primaries for tommorow,December 1, while the Governorship primary is said to have been fixed for December 4,others dates include December 8 for House of Representatives, December 9 Senate and December 10 for Presidential/National Convention
It was learnt that the party were planning to just use his influence and his wealth to strengthen the party.
A source in the state Apc delegates forum said said, “Let him come and join us. He has said on many occasions that APC is does not exist. Let him come and be part of us. We will welcome him.”but our ticket in Akwa ibom Apc was founded on blood and sweat and will never be for sale to anybody.
It was also learnt that the party is not planning to hold any special meeting of its Executive Committee in order to give Umana and other defectors the much needed waivers,but will rather allow them to fill in slots not taken up.
Umana who declared his intention to contest for the governorship race under the APC ticket assured that he would work with others stakeholders to bring the expected change in the state.
