Topdowndeals.com, Online Video Game Ecommerce Store is looking for a Part time social media personnel to hire on part time basis. Social Media personnel must be experienced managing social media for Startup Company and building social media presence.

The position requires you to work from home, have a laptop and internet access. Internet per diem is provided monthly

Responsibilities of the Position -

The Social Media Manager will implement the company’s Social Media marketing. Administration includes content strategy, develop brand awareness, generate inbound traffic and cultivate leads and sales. The Social Media is a highly motivated individual with experience and a passion for designing and implementing the Company’s content strategy, creating relevant content, blogging, community participation and leadership.

1. Implements a social media strategy

The social media personnel will develop the plan and the parameters for the corporate social media strategy. They will determine objectives, establish what needs to be accomplished and define how it will be done

2. Manages social media sites

The social media personnel will ensure accounts are updated on a daily basis and that messaging is timely and relevant. This also includes using social media tools to schedule tweets to appear overnight and on weekends, to promote the brands to night-owls.

3. Engages in dialogue and monitors customer issues
The social media manager will encourage and thank individuals for positive feedback, and try to appease any unhappy customers.

4. Monitors trends and encourages adoption of social media tools

The social media manager identifies and reports on social media trends. It is key for organizations to be on top of the latest trends and tools to ensure that an organization is ahead of the competition, reaching the maximum amount of customers and on top of its “tech game”.

5. Searches for news/articles to post

Depending on the nature of the organization, the social media manager may be tasked with the duty of constantly scouring the internet and the news headlines for articles, stories and tips that are industry related and which can be posted to the social media accounts.

6. Implements social media campaigns

Social media managers will develop these ideas and bring them to fruition.

7. Maneges social media campaigns

The social media manager will then provide reports for executives and management on what worked and what didn’t work.

8. Write blog articles

The social media manager will identify and develop blog posts and other materials. They may also recruit and develop other bloggers and blog editors.

9. Uses social networking analysis tools

The social media manager will useTwitterCounter, Google Analytic, and other tools to measure click through and measure traffic activity.

10. Send out Weekly mailings to customers using Mail Chimp Software to advertise sales, information and future products for topdowndeals.

11. Social Media Personnel must be experienced in designing graphic banners and other essentials required for social media posts and campaigns. Update Cover pages.

12. Encourage customers to use the FB share page on the product page of Topdowndeals.com

13. Increase the feedback and review of Topdowndeals.com Facebook customer review section.

Well the 20 hours is not bad and the flexibility of the job is cool.

The only reality is that graphic designing is a marketable skill right now and someone who has it can do personal jobs or get jobs that will pay better than what you are offering without him doing social media combined with it.
Social media, content management and e-marketing and business research, SEO and Analytics are all different skills which you have also combined together in this role.

As someone with experience in ecommerce and human resources, your organization will need people who have a passion for games trust me. That's the first basic skills you should look for. You should also consider people with standard skill in graphic designing because games is graphical and colorful and the pictures you will be tweeting or putting up on your blogs or on LinkedIn etc must send a message that is game-like.

You also need to make the job in-house as this is a start up and you need to monitor every data, conversions, feedbacks and real time visits to your page and website.

If you have the wherewithal, you should get a separate persons for those roles on full time or contract and add a little bit of cash or get someone who has all the skills and pay him or her well with reasonable targets.

1. Our social media is a huge tool for us to interact, inform and educate our customers on video game products, sales and industry news. Checkout our facebook page currently closing at 12k likes and this is with very limited budget placed on FB promotions. Our goal of our facebook and social media is not to make sales a priority, but to interact with gamers in Nigeria, inform them of new releases, industry news and etc. This is what we want to continue with whoever we hire.

Social media, content management and e-marketing and business research, SEO and Analytics are very broad words. However, once we select who we are interested in interviewing, we will further explain the specific requirements of the position and they will see that it is not as difficult as the big words make it sound. The responsibilities sound very high, but to a gamer its nothing new that he already does not research and know himself. What are the new releases in the industry, what kind of posts intrigue gamers, responding to customers and fans comments on our social media. Coming up with content that educate gamers, free giveaways, promotions and etc. We already have a system but we need someone who can also think outside the box.

3. Standard skill in graphics is important. We are not asking for someone to remake banners on a daily basis. If you take a look at Gamestop or Games.com. you will see majority of their banners are just slight adjustments to banners already published by the gaming publishers and can be pulled off google. No one is asking the social media personnel to make a new banner for GTA V or FIFA 15. Just adjust the banners to fit your message for Facebook. We have graphic designers already on our payroll that provide specific banners if needed for major campaigns.

4. All data and google analytics are reviewed by our management on daily basis to see how we can improve. We are not looking for someone to decipher google analytics but have the basic knowledge to understand the data and see where you can improve on the traffic behaviour of users.

5. You are correct that passion in gaming is very important for this job. All personnel with Topdowndeals know the games, consoles, system capabilities, new release schedule for games. We will like whoever is the social media personnel to be First a GAMER.
