The presidential convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which was initially scheduled to hold in Abuja has been shifted from Benin.

According to a top official of the party who revealed this new development to last night, difficulties such as constant hostility by security operatives in the Federal Capital Territory is the main reason for the change in venue. Other reasons cited include difficulty in finding a suitable venue and other logistics.

But despite the change in the venue, the date of the event remains December 10.

I'm not too sure the Benin venue has been finalized yet. Logistics and other issues of space and parking are still being looked at.

Lagos and Benin are still being considered but Benin may likely get it cos of political and other considerations.
