Following a petition addressed to the Chief Judge of the Federal High by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, over the new case filed against his continual membership of the House, a Federal High Court judge, Justice E.S. Chukwu, on Tuesday withdrew from the suit, Premium Times reports.

The suit filed by Hon. Abiodun Akinlade seeks to compel Tambuwal to vacate office following his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Akinlade is seeking an order of the court declaring Tambuwal’s seat vacant.

He is also praying the court to order the deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihedioha to take over the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives.

In the interest of Justice am glad to hear the incorruptible Justice E.S. Chukwu withdrew from presiding. It makes sense for another judge to tell Tambuwal his time is indeed up.

Tambuwal knows the outcome, the grandstanding is mainly for his supporters.

He's more fixated with winning the governorship position than anything else.

These people fool no one. They will simply replace Chukwu with a much less friendly judge, rig the ruling in favor of PDP and GEJ, then claim fair victory.

Discerning minds know that only the Supreme court's ruling will matter here. Whoever loses in this court will promptly appeal.

Between Xmas, Salah holidays and court recesses, this case will not get to the Supreme Court until GEJ returns to Otueke or Hague next February.
