KEKE DRIVERS IN ABIA PROTEST EXCESSIVE GOVERNMENT EXPLOITATION; VOW TO VOTE AGAINST PDP IN 2015

Keke (Tricycle) Drivers in Aba yesterday marched through the streets of the city to protest against what they called excessive exploitation by the state government. The Keke drivers numbering several hundred marched through the streets of Ogborhill and Asa road bearing placards with various inscriptions like WE NEED HELP IN ABIA, JONATHAN SAVE OUR SOUL NOW OR FORGET OUR VOTES IN 2015, ABIA STINKS, HELP KEKE DRIVERS T.A, OUR ROADS ARE DEATH TRAPS, TA MUST GO, NO MORE PDP etc.

According to their spokesman Amadi Okoro, who is also a student of Abia Poly, they decided to embark on the demonstration to tell the world what they have been suffering in the state under the administration of Gov. T. Orji. “There are over 10 different task forces with the mandate to collect various obnoxious levies and taxes from members of the association. For example, we pay N160, N180 and N250 daily, N2500 Monthly, and now another N3600 yearly. If you dare refuse to pay they will arrest you and impound your Keke to their station which will cost you over N15, 000 to bail yourself and your Keke. Life is really hell here in Abia. Who will help us? The government only cares about milking us dry without making any effort to fix the roads in the state which have turned into death traps since 2007. Aba roads were good when Orji Uzor Kalu was governor but today look at how the roads are, there is no single road that is good in the city"

They declared PDP as a failed Party in Abia state and vowed never to vote for any PDP governorship candidate in the forth coming Abia guber election. They also called on President Jonathan to come to their rescue or he should forget their votes in 2015

I don't care what you think or how you feel, the truth is, we ABIANS have right to be happy. For the past 16yrs PDP has subjected to slavery, and when we started seeing flicker of light nd hope ( Ugo Ogah), the enemies struck again. History will never forgive us if we refuse to do the right thing again. I don't know about you, but for the sake of my unborn children, i withdraw my loyalty for PDP, i declare for CHANGE.
God Bless ABIANS.

refer to the electoral act as amended which mandates that an aspirant must be a member of a political party for a minimum of two years before he is qualified to stand elections under such a party... Refer to APGA's constitution that mandates that all party activities MUST be conducted in the party office and that party officials MUST NOT have familiar contact with aspirants or visit their offices or place of abode prior to a party primaries.... . cool cool

APGA, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba emerged victorious as the party flagbearer polling a total of 515 votes of the 612 total votes from the 612 accredited delegates, Dr. Alex Otti polled 47 votes while 50 votes were returned as invalid APGA will bring the changes Abians are calling for.
