Since there are many inquiries about creating
such a bootable media, I've decided to create
this since this is a simple and easy tutorial thread for
less of the confusion. I have seen threads instructing users in creating bootable USBs,
none work the magic this tool can do. In this thread you shall learn
how to create a bootable device to upgrade in-place,
or perform a fully clean installation of your
Windows operating system. This is a very helpful thread
which can solve many operating system errors that cannot
be resolved as a final resolution.
Enjoy and leave constructive criticism or remarks down below.

1. Please begin by downloading Rufus (latest version) and save it to the Desktop, then insert your USB flash drive to a USB port, a CD into the Optical Drive, or other media. Click here to visit Rufus, and browse for the file to download.

2. Run Rufus as an Administrator and proceed with UAC prompt with Yes, if enabled.

3. Ensure the following settings for Rufus are configured as so in step 1. Note: you may select any media other than a USB.
For "Device", select the media to become bootable.
For "Partition scheme", and target system type, select the GPT partition scheme option for UEFI computer.
For "File system", select the FAT32 (Default) option.
For "Cluster size" select the (Default) (ex: 32 kilobytes or 8192 bytes).
For "Format Options", check Quick format to save time and efficiency.
For the "Format Options", check Create a bootable disk using, click/tap on the browse icon Name: to explore then select & insert the operating system of choice, whether it is Windows 7/8/8.1.
For the "Format Options", check the create extended label and icon files.
For the "New volume label", type in whatever label to match the bootable media drive's purpose.

Finally, click Start button.

5. Once Rufus has been completed, it will mark "DONE" in the status bar.

6. This bootable media (flash drive, DVD, other) is now boot ready and enabled to perform an installation of the preffered ISO image file.

7. Insert your new bootable media into its respective place in your computer and restart the computer to begin the installation, perhaps tapping "F2", 'f8' or "Press any key to boot from..." depends on the pc brand.

Happy booting brethren! smiley smiley
