Re: Poetry Classes For Beginners - NPC (Signup Thread) by cisse7575(m): 9:28pm On Jan 29, 2015
A cinquain poem is a verse of five lines that do not rhyme. The cinquain poem was created by Adelaide Crapsey.
Re: Poetry Classes For Beginners - NPC (Signup Thread) by cisse7575(m): 9:30pm On Jan 29, 2015
Or we can say a short poem consisting of five,
usually unrhymed lines containing,
respectively, two, four, six, eight, and
two syllables, any stanza of five lines.
Re: Poetry Classes For Beginners - NPC (Signup Thread) by cisse7575(m): 9:32pm On Jan 29, 2015

Welcome y'all to tonight's class.
Tex and myself will be discussing on the life of a famous poet, that lived in the 18th/19th century.
.
.
He is Willams Wordworth
Re: Poetry Classes For Beginners - NPC (Signup Thread) by EverestdeBliu(m): 9:16pm On Feb 01, 2015
Williams Wordsworth. Born April,7,1770,in Cockermouth, Cumberland,England. Attended Hawkshead Grammar School, where his love for poetry was firmly established, and it is believe that he made his first attempt on verse. After Hawkshead, Wordsworth studied at St. John College in Cambride and before his final semester,he set out on a walking tour of Europe,an experience that influenced both his poetry and political sensibilities.
Re: Poetry Classes For Beginners - NPC (Signup Thread) by EverestdeBliu(m): 9:19pm On Feb 01, 2015
Wordsworth earliest poetry was published in 1793 in the collection 'An Evening Walk and Descriptive Sketches'.
Meeting with Samuel Taylor Coleridge, they launched the Romantic age in English literature, with their joint publication, Lyrical Ballads-1798.Wordsworth was Britain's Poet Laureate from 1843,until his death in 1850.

DAFFODILS by William Wordsworth.
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hill,
When all at once I saw crowd,
A host,of golden Daffodils,
Behind the lake,beneath the trees
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze
Continuous as the stars that shine,
And Twinkle in the milk way,
They stretched In never- ending line
Along the margin of the bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The wage beside them danced;
But they
Out deed the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not be gay
