The Benue Grace Group has said the emergence of Maj. Gen. Mohammadu Buhari (retd) as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress marks the end of money politics in Nigeria.

Members of the group said this during a solidarity visit to the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, on Monday.

Chairman of the group, Emmanuel Abah who led the match also presented a letter congratulating the party for holding a transparent primary which led to the emergence of Buhari as the presidential flag bearer and Dr.Samuel Ortom as governorship candidate for Benue State.

They also said the emergence of Buhari has shown that money politics will soon give way for “competence and selflessness.”

Abah said, “The APC has in the short period of her existence raised the bars of honesty, accountability, transparency among others, setting new standards, providing a formidable and worthy alternative for Nigeria and Nigerians to access justice and fair play as far as politics is concerned.”

According to the group, the immediate past Minister of state, Trade and Investment Dr. Samuel Ortom who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, represents the hope for a positive change in Benue State.

Members of the group said they have found a good reason to participate actively in politics because of the choices the party has made in recent times.

The group also said the choice of Ortom which was through a consensus arrangement by the party delegates,party leaders and other stakeholders was in line with democratic tenets.

The group said it will continue to support all APC candidates from the lowest to the highest office in the elections.
