The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian
Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare
Adeboye, has denied that the church endorsed the
aspiration of one of its pastors, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo,
as the vice presidential candidate of the All
Progressives Congress, APC.
Osinbajo, who pastors the Olive branch of the RCCG
on Banana Island, Lagos, on Wednesday emerged the
running mate of General Muhammadu Buhari.
Adeboye, while reacting to the subtle endorsement of
Osinbajo by a Twitter handle: @rccgworldwide,
presumed to be the official Twitter handle of the
RCCG, denounced the page.
He said in a Tweet credited to him on @rccghq:
“RCCG is not affiliated nor represented by @
rccgworldwide.
“The church’s official twitter page is @rccghq.”
In no fewer than four other tweets, the church
equally faulted the endorsement of Osinbajo by the
creators of @rccgworldwide.
One of the tweets by the Pastors Seed reads: “RCCG
has not celebrated anybody for any position in the
forthcoming elections! The #OfficialRCCG handle is @
rccghq. Do not be misled.”
Another reads: “We are a mission and we do not
meddle into politics #RCCG #OfficialRCCG @
RCCGworldwide is wrong.”
Another said: “#OfficialRCCG – @rccghq We do not
denounce neither do we endorse candidacies for
elections. We are not a political party.”
Similarly, on his Facebook page – PASTOR E. A.
ADEBOYE – the revered cleric posted the following
statement.
“On behalf of The Governing Council of The
Redeemed Christian Church of God, we would like to
inform the public that RCCG is not affiliated nor
represented by @rccgworldwide.
“The church’s official twitter page is @rccghq. The
church cherishes the right of all citizens to participate
in the democratic process to vote.”

Redeemed Church Disowns APC VP, Prof Osinbajo.
The General Overseer, Pastor E A Adeboye, through the
Governing Council of the Redeemed Christian Church
of God (RCCG) has disassociated the church with one of
its Pastors, Prof Osinbanjo, selected to Asiwaju Bola
Ahmed Tinubu to be Pa Muhammadu Buhari's running
mate.
Prof Osinbano and his aides have been sending out
bogus congratulatory and support messages to the
APC new VP candidate, claiming that the messages
came from the RCCG Headquarters.
The Governing Council of the Redeemed Christian
Church of God declared that they are not part of the
political aspiration of Prof Osinbajo and never sent any
message of congratulation to him or his party. The
Church added that democratic and political party
association is a personal issue to members of their
church and they group sending those messages have
nothing to do with their church.
It is shame, that Pastor Prof Osinbajo in less than 24
hours of his selection as APC VP candidate, has joined
the dubious propaganda and lie peddling of his new
political association.
This confirms a Kanuri proverb that said that, "when a
Goat that do not eat yam starts following the goats that
eats yam, it will start eating yam".
An RCCG Senior Pastor who pleaded anonymity said
that it is impossible for their Church to support a
candidate (Pa Muhammadu Buhari) that openly
canvassed and have been working for the spread of
Sharia to all corners of Nigeria.

I have lost hope in Our so called men of God and prophets. In the bible U see Elijah and other prophets cautioning the corrupt kings. But the ones we have only know how to amass wealth and call the corrupt leaders for SPECIAL PRAYERS.

And when he becomes the VP, the church members will be the 1st to go and congratulate him and ask for tithe

It is only ethical for church leaders not to openly support any party/candidate being that they sure will have members with different political affiliation. But one thing is sure Pastor Osinbajo will not commence his journey into politics without the consent of his spiritual father(i.e pst Adeboye) and Boss
