at times actions speaks louder than words . If they don't want u in their country, then go back home where you will be treated with dignity and respect. Don't stay in a place where you aren't wanted or welcomed .

Guy, your friends are the ones who are confused, if you lied about your refugee status before you need to read news on changes to immigration status before continuing to lie. Your government has scolded South Africa when your president was here for an official visit for giving Nigeria ns asylum when there is no war in Nigeria. Please Google the article and see how the came down heavy on SA, accusing them of demonising and embarassing Nigeria. I think your anger should be directed at your government not South Africa. Nigerians who got asylum before your president's visit will be deported when they
go for renewal that is why your friends are in Lindela Deportation Center awaiting deportation.

The Envoy

Nigerians do not Qualify for Asylum in South Africa
By a Special Correspondent

Nigeria’s Consul-General in South Africa, Honourable Okey Emuchay, has bemoaned the continuous provision of asylum to Nigerians by the Department of Home Affairs. In an exclusive interview with Envoy in Johannesburg, Honourable Emuchie declared: “There are no political persecutions in Nigeria.” As a result, he argued that “it is a misnomer for a Nigerian to arrive in South Africa and begin to apply for political asylum.” Justifying his position, the Consul-General said: “With more than 80 political parties, Nigerian democracy and polity has achieved a lot of growth and stability since 1999. … If you are not comfortable in one party, you can well move to the other. For the first time in our national life, we had a successful civilian to civilian transition which we never had since 1960.” According to him, the current incongruous arrangement that informs the approval of political asylum by Nigerian applicants is not above board . It is the opinion of Honourable Emuchay that “there are persons within the Home Affairs Department who listen to lies and grant asylum seeker permit to Nigerians.” And to curb this wanton abuse of South Africa’s immigration laws

“Home Affairs officials should ask why such persons did not walk into a neighbouring country instead of obtaining a visa and buying flight ticket to fly down to be seeking asylum in South Africa.” The Consul-General also called attention to the difficulty experienced by some Nigerians in their genuine attempt at securing visas to pursue legitimate business in South Africa. “It is unfortunate that persons who do not have any legitimate business to conduct in the Republic of South Africa obtain visas first before genuine persons. It is a worldwide phenomenon, as touts who facilitate travel documents compromise institutions of state and facilitate the entry of such persons. These touts who compromise state structures are part of a bigger ring of human traffickers, drug peddlers, money launderers, prostitution rings, 419ners and those who specialise in the forgery of documents. These groups also assist their colleagues who just arrived in the country to secure immigration documents. So ‘John’ who cannot spell his name and who does not know where the country’s embassy is in his own country, has a genuine visa. How did he fill the forms and secure all necessary documentation? So the people who assisted him to secure the visa will also assist him to get relevant documents when in the country.” To checkmate the implied corruption in the system, the diplomat revealed that “there is a concerted effort to put a stop to that practice in the near future. Those who luckily got asylum permit already may not have them renewed and [they] may be taken straight to Lindela when they go for renewals or extensions of such permits.”

As you can see your own Consular General suggested the lamented" CHECKMATE at Lindela Deportation Center.
