My Issues And Annoyance With GEJ by Nobody: 1:46am On Dec 20, 2014 |
I have never liked Buhari, and still don't want to support him, but sincerely GEJ has not shown competency in leading this nation. I have decided to stop defending him. I'm now sitting on the fence. GEJ disappointed the expectations of many Nigerians who believed in him, considering his educational status. These are a few of my annoyance with him: (1) In GEJ's completion of Yaradua's tenure, fuel subsidy jumped up from about 300 billion annually as at 2009, 2010 to about 1.3 trillion in 2011, and it never came down except that it was cut down when fuel price went up. (2) GEJ granted presidential pardon to Alamieyeseigha, who is today contesting for Bayelsa Central Senatorial seat. Isn't that simply shameful? Why did he have to pardon him? That act alone showed him as a promoter of corruption. (3) What tangible things have been achieved with the over 400 billion per annum recovered from subsidy through SURE-P? They keep on telling us Abuja-Lokoja highway, which hasn't even gone half way. (4) How come GEJ, despite formerly being a lecturer allowed ASUU to go on strike for 6months, only to finally accede to their demands. What did he achieve by that initial stubbornness? (5) As an Igbo guy, I ask, what has GEJ really achieved for Igbos? Most of the federal highways in the SE are in a terrible state. 2nd Niger bridge is still like a dream, after 4 years of his govt. Onitsha river port don enter voice mail. How have we Igbos really benefitted from his govt. Mind you, Ohaneze shares the same sentiments, as they said a few days ago that GEJ has disappointed Igbos, but they will still support him (6) He said that he gets contradictory advice from aides, expressing how challenging it is for governance. Which leader doesn't? Is it not left for him to sift out the real counsel from those numerous confusions? Is that not why he is the president? (7) How could he come on air and say stealing (of public funds) is not corruption. What was that statement meant to achieve? ( A military officer recently wrote him about the corruption among their top bosses, saying that they can defeat BH if only they can be well equipped. How come they are still not well equipped despite recently borrowing 1 billion dollars to procure arms, and the annual 1 trillion naira defence budget? Truth is that it only seems GEJ tried when compared to military dictators of the past, but frankly speaking, GEJ has failed. He performed quite below expectations. (9) Why does he keep allowing his almost-illiterate wife to meddle into serious national issues and continue disgracing the presidency? If he can't control his wife, how can he lead Nigeria? (10) What exactly happened to the 10billion dollars Sanusi talked about? Nobody should tell me no money is missing, cos that will be a blatant lie (11) How come our excess crude account got almost depleted in his tenure and our external debts increase again in his tenure, when Yaradua and Obj made much progress in both areas? (12) He carelessly sacked 16,000 doctors during the doctors strike, only to recall them later. That act alone showed him as unwise. (13) How come no heads rolled after that sham immigration recruitment exercise that claimed the lives of several youth? If not for God's mercy, my brother would have died in that exercise. Yet, GEJ pretended as if it was no big deal by doing nothing after that. (14) Almost 3years after partial removal of subsidy, and yet no refinery is working up to capacity. When then are we going to have them start working? GEJ failed woefully in that regard. (15) PDP has been a big cancer in Nigeria which needs to be eliminated completely. Everybody is tired of PDP and we all need a change. Whether APC is the change, I can't say but PDP is a big mess. Majority of the youth that supported PDP in 2011 are enemies of PDP currently. As much as I detest Buhari, he will make a better president than GEJ, save for his perceived religious fanaticism and tribalism. I'm tired of defending GEJ, which can only be done based on sentiments. |
