The bible genesis story is a rip-off from the more ancient Sumerian texts. The Sumerians wrote that the Annunaki (those who from the skies came) 'gods' created humans whom they called the 'Adama' race. By eating the forbidden fruit, they got corrupted, and they lost the presence of God.

To be separated from God is hell.

Adam and Eve are in the grave, in hell, the consequences of their disobedience. But the hour has come and now is when they will hear the voice of the Master and arise from their confinement.
