APC’s lies

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South
West zone has congratulated Governor Ayo
Fayose of Ekiti State on his victory at the election
petition tribunal, saying “the victory has laid all
the lies by the All Progressives Congress (APC)
about the election to rest.”
The message of the zonal leadership of the PDP
was contained in a statement made available to
newsmen on Saturday by the Public Relations
Officer, Mr Dare Omotosho.
Omotosho said: “The leadership of the PDP in the
South West zone knew all along that the petition
filed against the governorship election held in
Ekiti State on June 21, was an academic exercise
by the shameless APC leaders.
“Their candidate in the election, Dr Kayode
Fayemi, after losing in all the 16 local
government areas of the state, promptly
congratulated the winner, Dr Ayodele Fayose, but
leaders of his party shamelessly and without
recourse to its realistic members in Ekiti State,
announced a contrary view which has now
dragged the APC through the mud with the
dismissal of its petition.”
According to the PDP zonal publicity secretary,
“we know that they would still be creating
confusion by concocting lies about the election,
and the tribunal judgement, which they are
known for but we are confident that the people
are not deceived because they know the truth.”
The zonal spokesperson of PDP charged
Nigerians to see beyond the propaganda of the
APC as the general election approaches, saying
“President Goodluck Jonathan represents the
future of Nigeria and a vote for him in February
is a vote for a better Nigeria.”
