LETTER TO Mr. President, Goodluckjonathan. by Shegman22(m): 10:36am On Dec 22, 2014
Dear Mr. President,
With due respect Sir, I write
this letter with high hopes
that it reaches you with a
sober heart and a pair of
open ears.
In Maiduguri, Borno State,
54 Soldiers were accused of
mutiny, assault, cowardice
and refusing to fight
members of Boko Haram in
the north eastern part of the
Country and a judgement
“sentenced to death by
firing squad for mutiny” has
been placed upon them.
Fellow Nigerians have cried
out for helps, and your
response towards this
determines our fate. I speak
for a large demographic of
Nigerians that have long
awaited Mr. President to
speak in a direct tone before
the Soldiers would be
condemned to death by
firing squad.
We strongly believe in the
voice of the people because
it is also the voice of God! I
believe that when a son asks
his father for a fish; he
cannot offer him “snake”
instead.
Many of us, whether we
admit it or not, looked to
you for some form of moral
support. We do not want to
die. We do not want the
Soldiers to die (instead find
alternatives for their
punishments). We do not
want more bloodshed after
so much that have happened
especially in the Northern
Part of Nigeria.
We totally agree with the
laws guiding Soldiers about
mutiny but I don’t want to
find excuses for defence.
Instead we plead for mercy
to consider many bloods
that have been sacrificed in
Nigeria recently. Some
reports say “how can you
face a battle with an assault
rifle aiming at your face
while you are not
equipped”? But we are not
giving you that as an
excuse.
List of Soldiers sentenced to
Death – Firing Squad
I personally believe in
PEACEFUL Demonstrations,
the fellow Nigerians have
spoken against judgement
pronounced upon them and
pleaded for mercy. You may
refer to See Comments
here .
With much hope for your
leadership and with great
admiration for your
accomplishments thus far,
Please help us fight against
this condemnation as the
“right side history awaits
you” based on this.
We love you and respect
you. We are simply asking
you to help us on this
matter.
God Bless you! And God
continues to Bless
NIGERIA!!!
Humbly,
ADELOVE.
