The Vice-Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has accused President Goodluck Jonathan of politicising the fight against the Islamist sect, Boko Haram.

Osinbajo argued that the present administration had failed to
“sincerely identify” the menace posed by the insurgent group.
The law professor also blamed the failure of the security forces to contain the excesses of Boko Haram in the ongoing war against terrorism on corruption.

Osinbajo stated this during a Twitter chat tagged #AskProfOsinbajo on Monday.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria said, “The current administration
has politicised Boko Haram. The corruption around defence funds has created a situation where soldiers are not well equipped and motivated.

“General Mohammadu Buhari wiped off Maitatsine, another Islamic insurgency during his administration, by sincerely identifying the problem as a challenge to the authority of the state to maintain law and order.

“The administration took command and funded the military transparently and that is what we need to do now to end this insurgency.”

The former Lagos State justice commissioner said one of the fundamental problems bedeviling the nation today was the failure of the Jonathan-led Federal Government to tackle corruption head-on.

According to the presidential running mate of Maj.Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), it is saddening that under Jonathan’s government, there is “no consequence for corruption.”

He added, “One of the fundamental problems is that there is no consequence for corruption. I think that what everyone will agree to about a Buhari government is that it will not tolerate corruption.”

Too early ke? Is like many of you are so clueless to what an opposition party should stand for. I believe long years of military rule and a previous lack of vibrant opposition parties since the 4th republic is what created a clear ignorance about how an opposition party should really operate.

You want him to be doing "doyin Okupe" PR for jonathan right?

This guy is just too vibrant, he has already started dissecting the issues and where nigeria problem lies, vp you would do superbly. And where is mr spear tire sam obo, that dull, boring and weak vp whose only ideas are to change agbada styles for 6yrs, its funny how he cleverly leaves jonadumb to worry alone on their sinking ship

I really don't expect Osibanjo to toll this path of accusation. He will only end up attracting resentment like the others.
Leave Jonathan alone and tell us what you have to offer besides your over hyped integrity.

Sell us your product and forget about competitors.

You seem to enjoy politics of bitterness, accusations and false propaganda, where politicians are sworn enemies that don't see eye to eye as practiced in Nigeria (just imagine Amaechi and Wike together in a car) . Is it so in US and UK?

My dear you are not progressive.

My dear you are not progressive.

He is dissecting the most pressing issue in the country @ the moment, and his assessment has no tint of bitterness, or false propaganda, except in your imagination. That he has rebuked the head of the current administration does not connote they will exchange blows when they ever meet or they cant drink tea /beer together discussing national issues.

Evidently, you have no idea the features of a progressive, so how can you identify what you are ignorant of ?
