Sad story, may God's protection be upon us all, but those fire fighters in Akure need to work more on themselves, dammit they are too sluggish?
Fire fighters in Ondo State has no functional vehicles
The governor is nowhere to be found, learnt he has relocated to Wadata Plaza as his new office, he has abandoned his responsibilities as governor of Ondo State
Ondo State has entered one chance,
All that concerns the governor now is his political future which is secured only if Ebele or Ebola Jonathan wins a second term hence his decision to join the virus party PDP some months ago,
PDP must be voted out at all cost

There are operational ones o, dnt dull.
It's just that the response time isn't great

Operational? Really this is new to me.

I do see them way back driving tanks around but I have never heard anyone saying Nigeria fire service put off any fire.

I might be wrong with my judgment but time/speed is paramount when it comes to fire, so if they are not fast at responding to such emergency calls then they are useless

He once attended military training as a Consultant,he is fearless and agile.
He shd be able to find his way out of the building.
God wil soon reveal the mystery behind his death.

Was surprised the day I saw them, it was like in the movies complete with screeching and formula 1 driving grin they weren't there because no one had their contact, when they finally got it it was too late, they still put out the fire though to prevent it from spreading

Sad incident.
Such is life.
All our years of labour come to an end in a second.
As we yet live, let us not postponed the important things to tomorrow. Spend time with your loved ones, live life to the fullest and touch lives positively. For we know not when the time shall be, when we close our eyes in eternal slumber.

RIP.
if everyone thinks like this there wont be problem in the world.

It was a sad Christmas morning for residents of Oke Ibukun Street, off Araromi, in Akure, Ondo State capital, who woke up to a raging fire that razed a clinic, Universal Medical Clinic (Specialist Children Clinic) and killing one Dr. David Oguntuase, said to be the owner of the clinic.

Our correspondent gathered that the fire began at 12.30 am on Thursday, but no one was able to determine the actual cause of the fire.

Sympathisers could not hold back their tears as they watched the remains of the doctor in the midst of the building, burnt beyond recognition.

It was learnt that the doctor worked as a Consultant Pediatrician at the Federal Medical Centre in Owo while he maintained the private clinic in Akure.

Some residents were said to have made frantic efforts to rescue the building, but their efforts to get the firemen to the scene failed, as none of the fire officers came to the scene in spite of the calls made to them.

A resident, Ajayi Olorunlogbon, explained that but for the efforts of neighbors around, the fire could have spread to other houses.

Officers of the Fire Service in the state could not be reached, but Police Public Relations Officer, Wole Ogodo, confirmed the incident, and said the state police command had begun an investigation into the cause of the fire.

He said, “The doctor was consumed in an inferno in his clinic and we have commenced our investigation, while his corpse had be taken to the morgue for autopsy.”

Ogodo added that the wife of the late doctor, Wuraola Oguntuase, came to report the incident at the A-Division Police Station in Akure.
