PDP Names Isiaka As Ogun Governorship Candidate by emmalezy(m): 10:06pm On Dec 27, 2014
The National leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party has submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission the name of Alhaji Gboyega Isiaka as its Ogun State governorship candidate for the 2015 general elections.

Before the primary that produced Isiaka, the national leadership of the party, through its National Working Committee, had directed its Ogun State chapter not to hold the primary.
The directive, which was sent to the Ogun State chapter of the party by the NWC and signed by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, said, “For the avoidance of doubt, the NWC hereby states that it did not authorise any governorship primary in Ogun State.

“Consequently, any such exercise held in Ogun State is hereby declared null and void and of no effect. A new date will be communicated for the primary.”
But the directive was ignored as the party, led by its Chairman, Mobilising Committee in the South-West, elected Isiaka at the primary.

Metuh told our correspondent that party’s stakeholders said that they did not get the directive on time.
He said this was the reason the stakeholders gave when they came to make presentations to the NWC members.

It was, however, not clear how the party was able to settle the rift which arose from the primaries in Anambara State. For example, a former national chairman of the party is claiming victory over the outcome of Enugu North senatorial zone primary of the party.

His claim was however contrary to the results submitted by the electoral panel, led by Senator Anthony George Manzo, which declared Chukwuka Utazi as the party’s candidate for the senatorial zone.

At the Manzo-led primary, which was held at Government Field Nsukka, Utazi polled 324 votes to beat Nwodo, who scored four votes while another aspirant, Dr. Martin Oke, got three votes.

But at another primary, Nwodo was pronounced winner.
In Anambra South, Senator Andy Ubah and his brother, Chief Chris Ubah, are claiming victories in separate primaries.

Also in Anambra North, a former Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Stella Oduah, and a former Minister of Water and Transport, Prince John Emeka, described themselves as winners of the party’s primaries conducted at different locations.

In Anambra Central, a member of the House of Representatives, Mrs. Uche Ekwunife, claimed victory while in the same zone, Senator Annie Okonkwo said he had been declared winner in another primary conducted by a faction.

Other aspirants like Senator Margery Okadigbo, who is currently representing Anambra North in the Senate; Dr. Obiora Okonkwo and Joy Emordi were alleged to be laying claim to victory of the party at different primaries

A coalition like the APC would hv benefited the igbos more. PDP is not good for the igboman at all. The APC will provide such a govt that will hv a semblance of regional government system with not a very powerful center and every region will grow at its pace. Just you guys watch and see. Buhari wll not be terrible president seeking too much powers because a coalition brought him to power. It's not like the PDP one party show.

Is this how PDP plans to win the Presidential Election?! How do they expect a house divided against itself to stand?! So many problems. From Lagos to Oyo, from Oyo to Ogun, from Ogun to Ondo, from Ondo to Rivers, from Rivers to Bayelsa, from Bayelsa to Delta, from Delta to Akwa Ibom, from Akwa Ibom to Enugu, from Enugu to Anambra, from Anambra to Abia, from Abia to Ebonyi, from Ebonyi to Imo. Haba, instead of them to concentrate on how to retain their Governorship Seats in the States they presently control, they're busy fighting a losing battle (ie, fighting for the Presidential Seat which Buhari has already won).

All the aforementioned States are just the Southern States the PDPians are having problems. I didn't even mention Northern States like Niger, Nasarawa, Benue, Adamawa, et al. I pity the Jonathanians/Samboriboberians who have failed to see the reality on the ground. 2015 shall surely be a shocker!

It is not unexpected in PDP to have these crises. It shows that it is not based on selection made in a man's bedroom with his senator wife beside him.

As usual all issues get sorted out before elections. Just as in Lagos, Anambra, Enugu, etc.

Again, the opposition would not know what hit them in February 2015. This will be the greatest surprise that the opposition will face.

What kinda selection are you talking about?! The kinda selection we all witnessed at the PDP's Presidential Primaries, or the kind of selection we witnessed at the APC's Presidential Primaries?! Or are you referring to the kinda selection where a sitting Governor would sit at the Government House and nominate a Successor?! Oga, abeg. Yearn another thing joor!

If PDP conducts Primaries like you just alleged, why are there so many aggrieved people in the party?! And a party who did not conduct & has never conducted primaries has no aggrieved Aspirants?! Bros, does your assertion make any sense even to you?!

It will be an easy task for APC in Ogun state.

The governor will win with wide margin.
