LIVERPOOL and Tottenham have been
handed a boost in their pursuit of West
Brom striker Saido Berahino.

The 21-year-old has been tipped to leave the Hawthorns following a scintillating campaign so far which has seen him plunder 14 goals in all competitions.

Liverpool and Spurs appear to be the
frontrunners for his signature and Berahino has revealed his ambitions to play for a top club.

"Obviously I've got big ambitions, but at the moment I'm a West Brom player and I'm enjoying my football," Berahino said.

Mario Balotelli looks set to be the catalyst of a complicated transfer jigsaw, as Liverpool are looking at an audacious double swoop. The £16m signing has failed to hit the heights for the Reds, and Brendan Rodgers is keen to spring a £30m move for Gonzalo Higuain.

Liverpool are also searching for a new
goalkeeper to provide competition for Simon Mignolet, with Sergio Romero high on their shortlist.

They are also thought to be exploring the possibility of letting Lucas leave, and Inter
have been on his tail in recent weeks.

The insinuation being that whilst it's certain there is be no deal to be made in January, the fact no summer move has been explicitly ruled out, which he could have easily done, hints at an exciting move for the German defender.
