His party wants to 'ISLAMIZE' Ogun.Baba Osoba's party, SDP, got the cue also went for a CHRISTIAN-CHRISTIAN ticket, in Senator Akin Odunsi and ADEBUKUNOLA ONABANJO(Late Chief Bisi Onabanjo's daughter). When some of us raised the opinion that Fashola being a vice-presidential candidate to GMB wouldn't alter much in the configuration of the voting pattern, mainly in the SW where he's truly loved, many disagreed, citing the 'religious sentiments' as if the SouthWest had ever voted based on religious basis. Ethnic Sentiments has been a potent factor in wooing voters in the SouthWest since time-immemorial,not taking anything away from Professor Osinbajo though, but who doesn't notice the deliberate mention of the connection of Osinbajo to the Awolowo family is gaining more currency amongst SouthWesternersthan the fact that he is a 'Redeemed Pastor'.?
However, TINUBU will rue that mistake of falling for the cheap blackmail of a 'Christian Governor' for Lagos.Whatever that means. I'm no prophet, but that sentiment will come back to haunt the APC and Asiwaju Tinubu. Religious Politics was given a thorough blow in the 1950's in the Western Region. Watch out when, deserving party members are schemed out of posts based on the new 'Muslim-Christian' quota system, which Tinubu and the APC fell for.
