The problem is most of us do not know how to treat our natural hair and also I have to admit that our natural hair is more difficult to maintain. The average Nigerian girl could have this length in 2 years but most will not stick with it and when you start out there are not that many cute styles to do so ...............

I doubt it. It also depends on the hair texture, and how you look after ya hair.

I used to have cornrows (before I gut the darn thing off), from age 16-20, and my hair back then looked somewhat like that (I still have the pic on my passport) - and I'm a guy. And also, I knew loads of guys back then when cornrows was in vogue - who had similar hair. Just look after ya hair, and eat a lot of protein.

I mean the look of the hair, has alot to do with her texture. I also have natural hair, which is long like TY's, but my texture means that the only way it wil lay like hers of have wavy curls is when I do a twist out or bantu-knot out.

There are solutions for difficult hair.
Coconut oil or "Adi Agbon" of the Yorubas works wonders for having and maintaining natural hair.

Yeah, thats true a twistout will be less easily achieved, but then her texture means she does not need a twist out.....lol

She would probably need to use some perm rods or do a twist and curl.

My hair is very coarse and perfect for twist outs, but they don't last more than two days. Whatever the curl pattern, its so refreshing that we are wearing our own God given hair.

Hmm. Are you sure about this? I find it hard to believe. Every time I have seen her she has a hair straightened. It would mean she is constantly using heat which would be severely damaging. I'll believe this when I see her hair in it's natural state like she used to have it in her younger years
