job cursed the day he was born his release from the womb-like jail after nine months of waiting alarmed by shouts of welcome shouts of joy of doubtful minds they were glad you'd come to eat of the bread they've eating that bread of sweats the sweats of hardwork the hardwork of life the life of vanity like moses borne into pharoah's house feeling and singing like Egyptians songs of folly and ignorance he served the gods of the land the gods of pride and vanity though joseph fell into the pit of pity his dream was up in the sky he was sold but his goal was gold but the gold was raw in the dirt of earth i keep waiting i wait like Abraham did for a son like joseph in portiphar's jail moses in the land of the median and jonah in the belly of the fish i keep waiting i wait like Daniel in the lion's den like Christ in the stone balked thomb saints in the upper room Mandela in the white man's cell like a dream my days of waitng must end my patience will yield hope and hope faith and faith fruit like Job my end will surpass all |
