Yesterday, I heard someone, a friend say in a possible attempt to rebuke poetry and poets, that she was a scientist and that through science only, the world could be cured of it's problems. Ishilove's reply to the friend reminded me of a long article I had once written in a reply to someone who had asked me what importance poetry had in our lives. Although, unfortunately, the asker never did see my reply to his question, I feel a reason to post my long reply here, for those who also might feel that there is no need for poetry in this modern world, and all we need are scientists. Enjoy.

Definitely poetry is important but it is a travesty to say it could be more important than science

sad I love poetry
I write (used to write) some half decent poetry. Actually forced myself to like it at a point but truth be told, it is soooo boring.
Give me some good ol' prose anytime.

Lol. What then will be the point of any analogy like that? Let me save the stress of answering that one. The analogy was simply a tool to indicate a difference, which is, that a robot is only material while man is both a material and immaterial being.

Humans are living things with consciousness while robots are non living things.

It has nothing to do with immateriality.
