This country is being govern by touts and bunch of lunatics. you cant just reduce the price of certain products without consulting the traders and marketers involved even thought we know an average Nigerian running filling station business is greedy. If Fed Govt want to reduce the price of fuel, they should first of know the cost marketers use in bringing petrol into this country, dialogue with the marketers and partner with them to monitor their activities before thinking of reducing the price but coz of election strategy, see the rubbish decision. The strategy GEJ and his administration is using all coz of campaign and trying to win back the heart of Nigeria is as f00lish and clueless as GEJ himself. now, majority filling station is closed and the whole thing complicated. Only God can save this country from the path of destruction she is heading gradually. |

Louislewis: Jona since 2009. NOTE I do stand strongly by this; who or whatever the people want, they should be allowed to have and nothing or no one else should be forced on them. If the people want GMB, GEJ should not be forced on them. If the people want GEJ, GMB should not be forced on them. This is Dewz's political stance. |

Oh, it's even Oando, that gas station should be demolished. Rubbish. They come here to shout change and corruption yet they delight in defrauding NIGERIANS. Government has said 87 per liter they still continued to sell at 97. Simple instruction they cannot obey, lawless, greedy and corrupt company. 1 Like |

Ifeconwaba:sometimes i feel like calling people like you foolish, but am not saying you are oo.but pls can you tell me the reason you are supporting Jonathan? a president who said stealing is not corruption? a president who spend billions of naira on feeding? a president who has 10 private jets when most nigerians dnt even pay 100naira on T fair? a president who remove subsidy there by inflicting pains on Nigerians? if somebody promise you sometime because he needs your support that moment and fail to provide it after receive the support, will it be wrong to call such person deceiver?meaning we are right to call Jonathan a deceiver for promising us constant electricity in 2011?listen my friend,i am from Niger delta,Goodluck is my brother, based on that i wld v lwant him to continue, but he does not have what it takes to lead us. |

ionsman: Mr ionsman, they have got nothing to lose. The directive is for major oil marketers that sell to consumers @ N97/litre. These are the ones FG control, not independent marketers who sell above N100. and are not under govt control and always pray for scarcity period and when they see one, they further pray for its elongation to exploit the poor masses. During fuel ⛽ scarcity the major marketers will divert the product to them while theirs will remain dry. They sell N200/ litre during the period. Why is it that these independent marketers and never arrested for selling above official price ? The answer is simple, just as their name implies, independent marketers, not under govt control. |

In as much as I do not support the fact that the filling station is selling above the new pump price, we must understand that their stock could be an old stock which was bought at a very high price. Selling at the new price will mean they will run at a serious loss on this stock. Secondly, The Edo State body has no jurisdiction in this matter. This is duplicity of roles and functions. Pump price of petroleum is already regulated by the PPPRA, the DPR, Weights and Measures and now an Edo State body. I am not aware if any period of transition was given, from my observations it was too sudden. Regulated prices would have started at the Terminals/Depots before cascading down to the retail outlets. |

dabriggs:Absolute balderdash! When the pump price was increased and announcement made, it took the filling stations only 60seconds to adjust the pump price at their machines to sell at the new increased price 2 Likes |

dabriggs:Ordinarily, it should be ideal, but remember that thesame Nigerians always love to do things only when it suits them or when its favourable to them. Now ask yourself, when the pump price was increased, did the filling stations wait till they exhaust the PMS they had before adjusting the price? NO! why? because it favoured them then. They made so much profit then, now its time for a little loss...for the masses to benefit, that would create a balance. Yes, pound of flesh like you said, if you like. Now you are sounding too defensive, do your dad own a filling station? |
Re: Filling Station Sealed Over Non-compliance Of New Petrol Price by Nobody: 6:10pm On Jan 20, 2015 |
shizzle11: Well I asked my self and the fact is the filling stations do not wait for a second before adjusting the price on their Dispensing Machines when pump prices are increased. Does this make them right? No! Now that the reverse is the case does it make it right either? No! We might say serves them right. Of course payback is a ''biatch''. But once again, I stated the facts just as I would have if the price was increased. No my late dad did not run a filling station business. (Modified) My job allows me to and understand the situation a little bit more indepthly. |
