Na so so negative reports! In my estate, we used to enjoy up to 12 hours of electricity supply/day In the days of phcn. We are lucky if we have five hours(between 12am and 5am) since Ibtec!

Things fall apart gan ni.

The annoying thing about this ugly development is that when some GEJites want to list his achievements, they also include "IMPROVED POWER SUPPLY ACROSS THE COUNTRY" and I would be like, what!.. Are these people even okay in the head?

Has state transmission for local consumption been enabled ?

Transmission within a state by the state government is allowed. That is why rivers state under Odili commenced the Omoku/Portharcourt transmission line, unfortunately Amaechi did not follow up on some of Odili's plans. Amaechi also commenced the Eleme / Portharcourt transmission line based on the permission. Delta state has a state wide transmission infrastructure in the works.

State governors with foresight can latch on the changes in the electricity sector and provide electricity for their people.

Usually when you sow a seed, it must die before it germinates a fresh, better new plant, not so
We are in that phase with our electricity and as the OP showed clearly the government is aware and addressing the issues steadily for a SUSTAINABLE resolution of the problem rather than a quick fix that does not last.

Let us not forget that we had similar birth pangs for cement, fertiliser cabal removal but today these sectors are competing with stable price and even reduction in some cases.

The double whammy of book haram insurgency in the north east and the unfortunate APC saboteurs explains the power shortage. I must now ask Jonathan administration to proscribe APC and book haram immediately since the legislature who are still being paid by us the tax payers have gone AWOL. APC will ruin Nigeria.

I can vividly remember 2011 just before the elections that there was a slight improvement in electricity supply. What did the govt say then - "If we can do this in just 1 year, then magine what we will do in 4 years".

Sadly, I must confess, I believed them. Now I know better.

Clap for yourself, your just won an award for ignorance. Is the Omoku/Portharcourt transmission line embarked upon by the Rivers state government part of the National grid?

Tell me something, do they select ignorant people to join APC or they become ignorant after joining APC.

peoples'devil party has spent 35billiondollars for the past sixteen years plus the media-hyped privitization but Nig is generating less than 3000MW. South Africa is generating over 40000MW but Iweala wants us to believe Nig is the biggest economy in Africa, she is truly amoney a doubler.

What is the source of your figure
So you know how ridiculous your fabu is- $35 billion at average 175 exchange rate is N6.125 trillion.
What is our total federal budget for the past 16 years?

BTW why don't you tell us how much South Africa has invested in electricity for the past 55 years i.e. since 1960 when Nigeria got independence and we compare to our country's overall investment in the same sector for that period.

You mind person! When lagos state started the first ipp didn't Obasanjo's government insist that all power must go to nepa for distribution and it could not supply lagos only?
People don't even talk about the distribution network that needs major investment before it collapses. The grid as it is cannot distribute 6000mw. Then we are still waiting for meters for effective billing. Many have paid almost a year ago, and they still await their meters. Transformation my foot.

The report is just laughable considering the puny attempt by the author to mischievously jumble unrelated data together.
