Although no life was lost, campaign facilities and materials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were Tuesday reportedly destroyed by people suspected to be members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State.
Speaking through its Assistant Director, Media, Mr. Bonny Nyong, the APC alleged that sponsored hoodlums in the early hours of Tuesday attacked and destroyed its campaign facilities at the Oron Stadium.
The gubernatorial candidate of APC, Obong Umana Okon Umana campaign train was scheduled to be at the stadium in continuation of the party’s state-wide campaign tour that Tuesday.
During the invasion of the venue of the APC campaign, Mr. Nyong said two vehicles, a Volvo station wagon and a Toyota Hilux vehicle, were burnt while the campaign canopies were also destroyed not spared.
