The First Step Towards Stopping Election Violence In Nigeria by emcaly001(m): 10:56pm On Jan 31, 2015
In a few days time elections will take place in all parts of Nigeria and we probably be experiencing election violence at a level we have not seen before. Since some people have made up their minds that if a particular candidate emerge, the election must have been rigged.
Although everyone is entitled to their own opinion but it should not be at the expense of national peace. Politicians and sadly religious leaders are the main perpetrators of this treacherous act of instigating election violence, some might wonder how religious leaders feature in promoting election violence. Well as recent evidence have shown some of these religious leaders have predicted a candidate winning and not being declared which calls into questioning the ability of INEC to stay neutral and that are not going to give us a credible election come February 14. And others have also claimed that a candidate will emerge but the process will be rigged this again calls into question the integrity of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
These accusations and attack on the integrity of INEC has probably made the average Nigerian to loose faith in the credibility of this coming election and this is the major contributor to the election violence in Nigeria, and since there are no medium to curb these kind of attacks on the body responsible for projecting the mind of the public, the blind followers of the loosing party will probably revolt and it might be for the worst this time around.

My humble suggestion politicians that have made it their vocal point of campaign to attack or predict favouritism on the part of INEC to one particular party or any religious leader predicting that INEC will rig this coming election should have legal actions taken against them. every man should be made accountable for his word no matter who he or she might be. Because the first step to stopping election violence in this coming election is when we all can trust the results announced by INEC. #EMCALY
