As parents of the abducted Chibok girls continue to despair over the chances of re-uniting with their abducted daughters nine months after Boko Haram terrorists took them to captivity, recent signs have indicated that the girls may still be well and alive.
LEADERSHIP Sunday has gathered from sources around Chibok community that the terrorists had married most of the girls and are keeping them in good condition of living.
When the group seized towns around Gwoza, Minchika and Mubi, it was believed that the insurgents moved into those communities with the girls who are now serving as wives for the terrorists.
According to a respected medical personnel who works in the area; an old Chibok woman had accidentally ran into one of the girls when Boko Haram were in control of the Chibok neighbourhood. Her interaction with the girl was perceived as though the girl was trying to secretly pass a message to her parents through the woman.
“When Boko Haram came to sack our communities some months back, they came with the intention of staying in the towns and villages for a long time. So, some of the terrorists moved in with their wives. An aged woman was said to have accosted one of the girls unknowingly.
The girl, on noticing that the old woman was from Chibok, decided to strike a conversation in Kibaku (Chibok’s language). The old woman was shocked to hear a girl from amongst the terrorists speaking Kibaku. When the woman decided to ask her further about her identity, the girl mentioned the name of her mother and then brought out some used shells of cartridges from her bag and handed them over to the old woman saying, ‘you can have this, we use them to make ear rings in the place we came from’, said the source.
“We believed that story because the old woman in question though did not actually know the mother of the girl. When we later crossed check the girls name on the school register, it surprisingly corresponded with the one the old woman gave. It was later we sensed that the girl was trying to pass across a coded message by revealing her name and handing out a souvenir to tell a story about where she was being kept”.
Another incident that gave more hopes that the Chibok girls may still be alive was when Boko Haram terrorists attacked a community near Mubi and were trying to force some of the girls to go away with them and probably marry one of them.
“When one of the girls said she would not marry them; a Boko Haram member angrilyy told her saying, ‘Are you better than all the Chibok girls that got married to us willingly?’
“That statement alone indicated that these Chibok girls are still alive and well”, said the source.
LEADERSHIP Sunday was begged by the source not to mention the girl’s name in order not to jeopardise her safety.http://leadership.ng/news/408139/interesting-signs-suggest-chibok-girls-alive-well

In my own opinion, I think this kind of news (though sounds so encouraging) should not be divulged like this. The abductors are reading too. Anything you discover about them, pass it to the relevant authority who will swoop on them and free the girls.
