The All
Progressives
Congress
(APC)
Director of
Strategy,
Dele Alake,
has said that
the party’s presidential candidate, General
Muhammadu Buhari, would not attend the
presidential debate organised by Channels
Television, Arise TV and NPAN.
Mr Alake
made this
declaration on Channels Television while
appearing as a guest on the flagship breakfast
programme, Sunrise daily.
Alake accused some Nigerian media
organisations of being compromised.
He said that he could not vouch for the
independence of some of the organisers of the
debate.
Alake, who was once the Commissioner for
Information and Strategy in Lagos State between
1999 – 2007, however, would not disclose those
he claimed have been compromised.
The Jonathan/Sambo 2015 Presidential
Campaign Organisation has, however, informed
the organisers that President Jonathan “has
accepted to participate in the debate.”
This was contained in a letter by the Director-
General of the campaign organisation, Senator
Ahmadu Ali.
The debate, which was initiated by and ARISE
Television and Channels Television, THISDAY and
Guardian Newspapers Limited on behalf the
Newspapers Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria
(NPAN), is scheduled to hold at the Congress
Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
It has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 3 as
part of the build-up to the February 14 elections.

First it was nbc that is biased, they what a neutral body like channels news. Now channels has offered they are still dodging the debate. This is the opportunity buhari has to tell us about that change that we all want yet he is running from it. If he can kill corruption, end the insurgency, improve the ecomomy, regulate oil price grin . is it ordinary clueless jona that he cant face?? APC is not telling nigerians the truth, they have an evil hidden agenda. Nigerians be wise!
