Newsweek published their list of the 50 most  powerful people in the world. No surprise the new leader of the free world President Elect Barack Obama tops the list. I’m not going to lie I had to look some of these people up. Like Hu Jintao who according to Wiki is the “Paramount Leader of the Peoples Republic of China”. 4-5-6 which Newsweek dubs the “Economic Trimvirate” (What a Name!) consists of  Ben Bernanke of the US. Federal Reserve; Jean-Claude Trichet of the European Central Bank (ECB); Masaaki Shirakawa of the Bank of Japan; and, to a lesser extent, counterparts in China, India, Brazil, Mexico and elsewhere. They say that that these individuals will be responsible for leading the world through this current world financial crisis. The Clintons come in at #14, while 7 years after 9/11 an uncapturedOsama Bin Ladenis #42 he even beats out Oprah at #47. PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE CAME #49! "Powerful" Men are regarded as people of great influence; the movers and shakers of their sectors.

Pastor Adeboye is sure a powerful man in the context of religion not only in Nigeria but across the world.

, personally; i expect TED TURNER's name to be on the list, he could make or mar anybody in the world with his media prowess, ( not discredting BLOOMBERG and RUPERT though), recall that OBAMA's victory could not have been complete without him,

The term Powerful is relative in this case

For some, the office they occupy weilds a lot of power, for others, they are mostly influential figures and lack real powers!

If being Influential is synonym to being powerful then i don't see any reason why Adeboye couldn't be on the list. . . .The man could influence thousands of Nigerians and African alike with a few statements, something the combination of most political colossus will never be able to achieve.

All that asides, WTF is Micheal Bloomberg doing on the list? Besides being a Mayor and being a successful businessman, what sorts of major powers does he wield?
