The yoruba story of Oduduwa is so funny, stupid and meaningless to me. Am always so surprised how a modern day learned person still believes all those folktales and still hold on to it with passion as if it makes them a better people. I feel we should be more intellectually advanced than those tales by moon light of oduduwa falling from heaven with a snail etc etc |

luckysay:Actually it's those who don't know much about yoruba traditions that take the Oduduwa "coming"(nt falling) from Orun so seriously. .. in traditional yoruba society there's two forms to the tales we tell - Historical and Mythical - Same names might appear but they are different personalities take a look at Oduduwa, a spirit being that was sent to finish the work of Obatala who got drunk, their job was to reform the earth after a great flood. then there's Oduduwa, a man who was most likely a native of Oke-Ora a component hamlet northeast of Ife..he led a civil war against the reigning King Obatala and brought the hamlets together under a unified government see the difference? and why people can easily get confused 1 Like |

userplainly:u lie, Urhobo women even work more than men to make a living, that's why people always have that mindset that Urhobo men are lazy not knowing that the women tend to work harder than the men that's why u see A lots if them having more property than the men. |
