There are strong indications that the presidential and National Assembly elections originally scheduled for 14 February may have been

shifted to March 28 while the governorship and states houses of assembly elections earlier fixed for 28 February will now hold on 11 April.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, is expected to make a formal announcement of the changes later today.

There will be another reason before then why March 28th is untenable.

What if they say we have mafe tremendous success on the ground and cannot dial back the hands of clock....but the goal of clearing ground for election in NE has yet to be completed and si we need to move election to July. Then what

In July another reason will come up....Nigerians continue to acquiesce and bend over and refuse to hold officials to commitments and accountability...so flagrant disobedience and disorderliness flow from top to bottom and bottom to top in a cyclic exchange.

APC have been riding on slogans like FeBuhari and Ihavedecided which is useless Also APC knows the significant progress being made by the Army in the North-East also the potential disqualification of Buhari over his cert. scandal, or maybe Buhari might faint again and of course their campaign fund is dry that is why they want elections to hold in February 14. Apart from the fact that a shift is going to interrupt many people's plans about travel and election monitors etc a shift is Ok since it's still within the time frame allowed in the constitution.

Your coward will still lose. This is a big disgrace. An incumbent government afraid of elections. A president that cannot defend his country. A president owned by women. The man is finished, his lifestyle and leadership style is against everything African. Eventually it is Chad that will come and conduct the elections.

All d parties representatives and stakeholders met with INEC and agreed to shift d elections to March 28, so ppl shud stop posting rubbish.

Amaechi will be d most foolish person to incite protest.

I hope d army flog him very well if he exposes his foolishness in d street.

May 29 is sacrosanct, since inec stays within the window given in the constitution for elections they have done the right thing.

May 29 is sacrosanct. it cannot be shifted past the stipulated date aĺlowed in the constitution so I doubt a further shift.

It is not to President Jonathan, the only thing sacrosanct to him is staying in power by any means possible.
