I found this really really disturbing and disheartening.
This girl has been missing for weeks and probably sold into prostitution but nobody cares because she is one of us, One of the downtrodden and oppressed.

Naija police is just like their father GEJ, this story no different from chibok girls ,boko haram & GEJ

I implore the Office of the Presidency and the Embassy of Nigeria in Niger to look into this case. Make use of your diplomatic relations with Niger.

I believe a lot of people read this pages,so I'll put this suggestion here.

We need a special unit/force for kidnapp cases in Nigeria.Presently Nigeria has 1 of the highest kidnap cases in the world, and the truth remains that statistic was based on reported cases,we know most families don't report but negotiate and pay the ransomes quietly. So the true picture would may place us as the highest kidnap zone in the world....

Its time we had an office/ agency specially kitted, funded and run for kidnap cases only,I'm sure should an office like that request for volunteers pple would turn up to work for them for free so manpower wouldn't be a problem.

But to sit and hope the same innefective police would somehow be equipped to serve this prpose overnight is asking for too much, its refusing to place value on the life of our citizens especially the most vulnerable, children and women and laslty if we can do it with the NDDC why can't we do it for kidnappings that has become so rife in the nation.

When you have a system that does not work. Our Police is one of the worst in the world to be able to trace this innocent girl. If this case is reported to them, they will turn the complainant into their ATM machine and start extorting money from them.

Network providers should all come together to be able to trace the area where the calls were originating from. I still believe that the girl is still in Nigeria. Let her full pixs be displayed on TV and all print medias to see if anyone can be able to identify her.

This country is in a total mess.

Precious Okoro, the 15-year-old schoolgirl, who was kidnapped by a syndicate suspected to be operating from the Niger Republic, may have been sold to a love-vendor in Niamey, the country’s capital.

The victim’s mother, Blessing, told PUNCH Metro that she spoke with a woman on the telephone who abused her for disturbing them with calls. She added that the unnamed woman claimed that she had bought the schoolgirl from the kidnappers.

PUNCH Metro had reported on January 27, how the Junior Secondary School three pupil was kidnapped in the Sangotedo, Ajah area of Lagos State, after she boarded a vehicle en route to her school in Ikenne, Ogun State. Her father, Nwaigwe, was said to have seen his daughter enter the vehicle without suspecting that it was owned by kidnappers.

It was reported that a few weeks later, an official of the school called Nwaigwe to say that Precious had yet to resume since she went to Lagos.Nwaigwe told PUNCH Metro that after waiting anxiously for about three months, the family got a call from the Nigerien kidnappers, saying his daughter was in Niamey, Niger Republic.

The abductors were said to have demanded the payment of $100,000 as ransom for her release.A follow-up report by our correspondent said the kidnappers threatened to make Precious “work for the money” if her parents refused to pay. When the mother, Blessing, spoke with PUNCH Metro on the telephone on Tuesday, she said a woman, who spoke with her on the phone, claimed she had bought her daughter. She lamented that the Nigerian police were not doing enough to get her daughter. She said, “Before, the detectives promised to take us to the Commissioner of Police, but they did not, and later, they said they would take the case to court. We refused that because we know if the matter gets to court, my daughter may not be found again.

“The kidnappers are no longer asking for money. Sometime ago, I called my daughter and she said I should stop crying, that I should be praying for her. Since that day, the line has remained unreachable.“Another line that we tried, a man picked the call and said it was all business. He started to abuse us and insult the family, before giving the phone to another woman, who said we can go ahead and do whatever we wanted to do because she was not the one that kidnapped her from Lagos and that she only bought her from the kidnappers.”Blessing appealed to the authorities and Nigerians to assist the family in securing Precious’ release. She claimed that some of the suspects in custody had links with the kidnappers and that they had been using their lawyers to threaten the police. She said, “Some of the suspects were arrested in Imo State and they know the kidnappers. But nobody is doing anything about my daughter.”The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, had yet to respond toPUNCH Metro’s text message as of press time.

an innocent girl is missing, instead of u showing remourse, you are thinking of how to insult the president. was he responsible for this shamful act? i ask you angry

I would blame the president.

When the head with all the security details at his disposal refused to bring back over 200 girls from a known person (shekau) at a known location (Sambisa) then how do you expect the police to be motivated enough to go after a single girl kidnapped by an unknown person to an unknown location.

With which courage do you expect him to make directives to the Nigerian police to find the girl.

This is a very big case, because there is a similar case involving their former Prime Minister who is on the run ever since. Mmmm, wicked world, is all people can find to say. People should try making the kind of statements that they would have made had the child been taken to Nigeria from a different nation for the purpose of sexual abuse.

Nigeria will never work as it should until borders are controlled. You don't have a Nation if it has no solid geographic location but just sort of exists out there in the wilderness with all sorts drifting in and out at will.

Nigerians are so ignorant of the law it brings me to tears. The woman is bragging that she was not the one who brought the girl from Lagos but only purchased her from the kidnappers. She is not even aware that in Nigeria she could get a death sentence for that. It's like people just think that Nigeria is a place were you wake up in the morning and scratch your arse and then proceed to do whatever the hell you want. I cannot wait for a time when people will start taking advantage of the laws that have already been set in place.
I am hopeful for this girl because she is old enough to know exactly were she is from. I am hoping she will find her way home one day. Parents need to educate their children about how to handle situations like this. The same way many parents do emergency drills with their children. Parents should start educating their children on what to look out for. What information to give out and what information they should not give out. Code words etc. This is the reality of today. Not just in Nigeria but all over the world.
Times have changed. Everyone is not your Aunty or Mommy as people in Nigeria condition children to think. Tell your children not to walk up to random strangers simply because it is an "Aunty". These kidnappers and baby thieves are usually women because people would least expect a woman to harm a child. Parents need to be more vigilant. Sending your child to school and not even checking in for weeks is ridiculous.
